Mark Livesey
I'm a documentary filmmaker and photographer working almost exclusively in endurance sport and adventure.
My military background taught me discipline, preparation and attention to detail. Those principles still shape the way I work today.
I travel the world to work in very different and often challenging environments, documenting athletes, adventurers and extraordinary challenges. I'm also still chasing my own adventures — training, racing and exploring whenever I can.
Staying fit and active gives me a genuine understanding of what athletes are experiencing, but it also allows me to go where the story takes me. The best images are often found away from the obvious moments, and sometimes getting the shot means going further, staying longer or putting yourself somewhere uncomfortable.
I'm looking for the moments that tell the real story — the effort, the uncertainty, the emotion and everything that happens between the start and the finish.
I shoot both film and stills, creating content that can tell a complete story while giving athletes, events and brands a substantial library of images and footage to use.
Six of my films have been distributed worldwide on Amazon Prime, with other work available across endurance TV platforms and YouTube.

Long-form documentary
Stories built around the challenge. I create documentary films around record attempts, endurance challenges, expeditions, athletes and the people behind them. From the initial preparation through to the moments when things get difficult, I capture the story as it unfolds — producing films with genuine narrative, atmosphere and emotion.
Race & event photography
More than just race-day coverage. I capture the action, atmosphere and emotion of events, while looking for the moments that often get missed — preparation, exhaustion, celebration, the people behind the athlete and everything in between. My approach is hands-on and immersive, producing a professional library of images for athletes, organisers, sponsors, media and social channels.
Athlete, brand & social
Content built for athletes, brands and modern audiences. From athlete profiles and training sessions to short films, Instagram Reels and vertical video, I create cinematic content designed to work across social media, websites and sponsor campaigns. Whether it's one shoot or an ongoing content package, I combine film and stills to give you a bank of professional, ready-to-use content.
