The Badlands Race is one of those events that sits in the back of every gravel rider's mind. A long, hot, unforgiving route through landscapes that look like another planet.
I was there to photograph the race from the inside — not just the finish-line hero shots, but the quiet moments when riders realised what they had signed up for.
